Jacob Kar poff died May 2 at his residence. The United church held his funeral Thursday at 2 o clock conducted by C Foryste. Burial followed at Whitemouth cemetery with organ music by Mrs. Jean Segall. Survived by widow seven sons and three daughters. Russell's funeral home managed arrangements.

Obituary: Harry T. Smith 72 veteran of WWI
Harry T. Smith died suddenly at Deer Lodge hospital in his 72nd year after years of poor health. A World War I veteran, he served with Glen Campbell's 107th Battalion, was wounded at Vimy Ridge, and returned to Canada in 1919. He later worked for The Forest Service and remained active in the Lac du Bonnet Canadian Legion. He leaves two daughters, 13 grandchildren, and a great grandchild. Funeral services were held at St. John's Anglican church with Legion honors at the graveside.

Ten-Pin Bowlers Hold Smoker at Pine Falls
Ten Pin Bowling League held its annual smoker at the Winter Club on Thursday May 6. A single tournament accompanied the wind-up with winners L Frederick first T Harrison second and A Malo third. The Chateau trophy was presented by W Johanesson and L Frederick accepted for the team. A general meeting followed. President J Munsie was replaced and officers elected: vice president L Frederick secretary A Ansierson treasurer J Irvine. The Lac du Bonnet Foods and Nutrition club celebrated its fourth Achievement Day in the Community hall on April 28. Judge Miss Connie Johannason and district rep Mr. Prodan evaluated each girl’s display including a poster notebook lunch and jars of produce. Winners received Extension Service prizes and plans for future events including a Winnipeg camp and a Can and Save display.
