The town council of Beausejour Manitoba approves By-Law No 371 to raise 10000 dollars via debentures for erecting a public memorial and community center. Voting on May 16 1948 at Town Hall from 9 am to 5 pm with polling overseen by the mayor and secretary treasurer to tally results by May 10 1948.
A Beausejour community update covers Frank Wilgosh hosting Eugene Rycar birthday tribute. Genaske’s leathercraft business gains attention with Chalet Lake Louise souvenirs. Births and visits nurture local ties as residents travel to Winnipeg Regina and Seddon’s Corner.

The funeral service for Darlene Cousins aged three was held at Whitemouth United Church on April 24 with Rev. David Muir officiating. She is survived by her parents and one brother and sister. Pallbearers were John Paulsen Lorne Molinski Lloyd Carlson and Walter Karpoff from Whitemouth Consolidated School. Floral tributes were sent. Renshaw's Funeral Home directed arrangements.
