Agassiz Trustees and Teachers Conclude Agreement
On March 15 1971 representatives of the Agassiz School Division and the Agassiz Division Association concluded a collective agreement covering about 200 teachers for 1971. It also grants cumulative sick leave of 20 days per year to a maximum of 60 days. Brownie and Guide News Brownie Garble Up Ceremony in Lac du Bonnet
On March 2 at Centennial School Brownies and Guides held a Flying Up Ceremony and badge presentations. Susan Hayward earned a Brownie skier's badge, and four Brownies moved up to Guides. Guides leader Mrs Grace Ambler presented badges including home nurse first aid pet keeper cook writer and service stars. Ann Okrainec and Jean Jackson attended. Mother daughter banquet announced for April 16 at the Arena.

Ontario Asked to join Boycott
Manitoba's Public Works Minister Joseph Borowski urged Ontario to join Saskatchewan Manitoba and Alberta in boycotting four U S auto makers. The provinces announced the plan after their December Winnipeg meeting where fleet discounts to governments were withdrawn and Borowski sent a telegram to Ontario highways minister Charles McNaughton seeking confirmation of Ontario's participation.
