Lac du Bonnet Elementary Science Fair Awards
Lac du Bonnet Elementary School held its sixth annual Science Fair on March 30 at Centennial School with 48 projects entered by Grade 4 to 8 students. Cash prizes of 10, 7, and 4 dollars were funded by local groups including the Lions Club, school councils, staff, Rural Municipality, and Rebekah Lodge 61, across four grade levels.

Seguin Foursome Captures Pine Falls Mixed Spiel
Pine Falls hosted a 64 team mixed curling event over the weekend with the Seguin foursome taking the main title after defeating Bob Collez in the final. Des McDonald Tanis Meaid Linda Seguin supported Seguin, while Harvey Smith's team won the second event beating Bill McDonald. Dennis Klepatz led the third event by defeating White. White had earlier beaten Dave Harrison. A Legion Hall dance and buffet preceded the weekend’s end.

Pinawa Teachers Conclude Two Year Agreement
Pinawa teachers in Whiteshell School District 2408 reach a two year contract with Agassiz Division Association. The agreement, announced March 31 by Dennis Holmlund, raises average salaries 3.2 percent in 1971 and 4.3 percent in 1972 for about 40 teachers, with detailed step schedules for Class 1 and Class 4 salary scales and daily substitute rates.
