The Seven Sisters Boy Scouts and Cubs held a Parents Night on Friday March 16. Carl Birstow opened the event as chairman and praised scouting. Scout Master Fred Arseneault and Cub Master Ewart Carruthers led demonstrations in First Aid Signalling Dramatics knot tying and badge tests, with crafts on painting basketry and stamp collecting. Lunch followed served by Scouts and Cubs supervised by the social committee ladies Marie Gibbons Rose King Ben Pommer Hilma Solar and Mary Pirard.

The Manitoba Power Commission reports February progress on a 60 000 volt transmission line for the Manitoba Hydro Electric Board serving the Itham mine at Cat Lake. The 15 mile line from Great Falls to Cat Lake gains power via the Great Falls San Antonio Mine line with new substations at East Selkirk Lac du Bonnet and Great Falls and pole setting along the Telford to West Hawk Lake route. Despite heavy snow and cold, construction remains active and planned to extend toward Falcon Lake this summer.

Pine Falls Paper Kings lost 3-2 to Minnedosa Jets in a tight provincial final after Barry McQueen netted the deciding goal off a Pine Falls defenceman. Red Ahrensback and Carl Porteous scored for Pine Falls. Ted Gilchrist and Bob Guay delivered standout goalie performances before a near capacity crowd of 1009. The series included a 6-5 Pine Falls win and a 5-2 defeat in Portage la Prairie. A special train of 369 fans traveled to the final.
