Falls residents traveled to Winnipeg for several days last week with visits to Fraser and Hill families. A Red Cross Bean Supper was held in the Community Hall on March 9, featuring games with visiting Whitemouth sinkers and a digression into curling. Seven Sisters won the Anderson Curling trophy 16-0 and 13-3 against Pinawa, with silver butter dishes awarded to players.

Norseman Ski ms Over Snowmobiles During Exercise Muskox

Northern Arctic expedition Exercise Muskox chronicles a hazardous trek from Churchill to Cambridge Bay. Blowing snow and 427 mph winds delayed progress. the force paused two days as RC AF planes parachute food and fuel along the 3100 mile route. Brigadier Morton led the march leaving Churchill February 15, aiming for Perry River then Yellowknife, Edmonton arrival in May.

Red Cross canvass halted by road conditions at Whitemouth

The Red Cross will not canvas the district due to road conditions. Donations can be left at the Royal Bank of Canada with receipts and membership cards available. J. Schatkowsky has returned home from St. Boniface. Mrs. Ted Jessop and children visit the Scullys. A card party at the hall netted 28 dollars for the rink fund with prizes to Mrs. Winter, Marie Steiner, H. Kendrick, and W. Giesbrecht. Lunches donated by several Mrs. Cousins and Steiner. Parties continue each Friday at 8 p.m.

Legion Dance Brightens Lac du Bonnet Weekend

Lac du Bonnet hosts a busy weekend as the Legion dance draws residents home from Keewatin and Beausejour. A Patrick’s Day themed reception, prizes, and a lake town mood lift accompanied curling matches, visits, and community cheer.
