Co op union rushes for quick freezing plant

Canada MISSION B C reports a cooperative union rushes to build a quick freezing and holding plant for the 1946 fruit season. The plant will freeze 75 barrels daily, equal to 30 000 pounds, and hold 1 500 barrels in its holding room.

Beatrice Baird and John B Forbes married on February 23 at 3 30 p m in Great Falls at the home of Mr and Mrs L Howes Rev S Richardson officiated. The bride, daughter of Mrs J Baird of Winnipeg, wore turquoise blue and American Beauty rose corsage. Bridesmaid Miss Agnes Forbes, best man Lewellyn Howes, and guests included Mrs J Dusette and various relatives. The bride wore a gold wool dressmaker suit and black hat for the sendoff.

Curlers Invade Bissett For North-Eastern Bonspiel

West Kildonan Pine Falls Seven Sisters and San Antonio curlers visited Bissett for a two day bonspiel. Teams from West Kildonan including Walter Chesworth Glen Ruthruff and others joined Pine Falls Seven Sisters and Pinawa rinks. Curling games tours underground stag party and a Community Club dance filled the weekend as the event neared its close. The Grand Challenge led by T Matthewson and other events were nearly finished with the Ladies Bonspiel starting.

Curling Club Shares Discussed and Rock Purchase Inquiry

The group debated issuing shares at least five dollars per share and stated shareholders would own the rink until redeemable by the Community Club. The Secretary was told to contact various Curling Clubs and the Manitoba Curling Association about buying sixteen sets of curling rocks.
