Manitoba 1953 Highway Map Identifies New P.T.H. Mileage

Manitoba's 1953 official highway map shows 83 miles of provincial trunk highway added in eastern Manitoba this year, bringing total eastern P.T.H. to 421 miles. Western Manitoba remains far ahead in mileage, though several routes and new grade and gravel sections are noted, including a Whiteshell entrance and a proposed relocation of No. 11 toward Leig's Corner. The map hints at future Trans-Canada work to Barren Lake and a possible 23 mile St. Vital to Ste Anne Corner segment.
