John Ernest Engel 30 died June 2 in Pickle Crow Ontario after a canoe overturned during an attempt to start an outboard motor. Born in Ladywood he served six years in the PPC L L and Royal Canadian Corps of Signals. Eva Skibo 82 dies at Hazel Ridge home

Eva Skibo a Hazel Ridge resident for 45 years died at her son William Skibo's home on June 12 aged 82. Widow of Dmytro Skibo she is survived by four daughters and a son plus 29 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services were held June 14 at the Greek Catholic church in Cook's Creek with interment at St Nicholas cemetery. Russell's Funeral Home arranged services.

Alexander Docyshyn of Stead Manitoba died at St Boniface hospital June 14 aged 81. He came from Austria 40 years ago and settled in Stead. Beausejour Farmers Day Draws 3000 Plus Attendees

Beausejour hosted a large Farmers Day with over 3,000 attendees from local and Winnipeg areas. Displays included farm machinery from implement dealers, crop sprayers, tractors, combines, and new cars. Contests covered bicycle race, log-sawing, hog-calling, tug of war, and various footraces. prizes included radios, sports equipment, and cash. Brad the Happy Clown entertained families, and a monster town hall dance closed the event with a Shorthorn bull draw won by M Foloshyn.

Beausejour hosts a record Dominion Day with motorcycle races stunt driving and a flaming wall crash. Parachute jumps aeroplane rides and boxing bouts feature champions from Winnipeg and Manitoba regions. The Winnipeg Grenadiers Band headlines the parade and Maybelle Monnington's Cheerio Troupe performs alongside Brad the Happy Clown. Free parking and a grand dance close the day.

Double Ring Wedding of Szajowski and Shumilak at Beausejour

Bernice Mary Szajowski and Stanley Edward Shumilak were married at St. Mary's Church Beausejour at 5 p.m. Saturday June 19 officiated by Father Jaworski. The bride wore a white satin gown with a rose and leaf bodice and a long veil. A reception followed in the parish hall and the couple left for a honeymoon in Kenora Ontario.

An unnamed groom and bride held a wedding with 24 guests in Moore's dining room. The party featured a navy accessory dress code and a three tier cake, with corsages of white and shattered blue carnations for the couple and Talisman roses for the groom's mother. Attendees from Pine Falls included Mr and Mrs D Brewster, Mr and Mrs P Gardiner, Glenn Guinn, and Miss Irene Lidstone, Berna Wall, and Frances Walton.
