The Beausejour W I held its June meeting at Beauesjour hotel on Tuesday. A piano recital by Mrs Ehinger's pupils featured Barry Kaatz, Vern Puffer, Joyce Tocher, Betty Friesen, Nancy Neuman, Doreen Kielback, Charles Kielback and Alvin Hayes. A gift was presented to visiting sick convenor Miss Greinke, and a lunch followed. The next meeting is September 7 at 8.30 p.m.

Study Groups Picnic At Great Falls
The Great Falls study group hosted the Seven Sisters group for a picnic on Tuesday evening June 8 in front of the power house. After supper, members toured the power house, joined in communal singing, and enjoyed performances by J O Jones Mrs A Ross and Mrs Hardcastle. Lew Howes read The Cat story and Mr Oxholm accompanied the songs. The event closed at J O Jones home with thanks for the season and encouragement to continue the study group interests next year. Badly Burned When Blowtorch Explodes
Sixteen year old Edward Walesiak was badly burned when a blowtorch exploded as he tried to retrieve it from a brush fire. He had earlier used a lighted torch near gasoline drum contents and carried out risky handling. The incident left him hairless with significant skin damage.

Popular couple leave Pine Falls
Mr and Mrs T Macklin depart Pine Falls on June 13 heading first to Toronto then Seattle to visit Mrs Macklins mother for a few months. They plan to return to Manitoba next spring with plans for the year undecided. At the Oldenburg school tennis court last week promising young players impressed. In girls singles Louis Judt beat Myra Klepatz 10-8. Wittenberg and Pluchinske won girls doubles 6-3 over the Judi sisters. Edward Knopf beat Gordon Klepatz 6-1 in boys singles. Locht and Wittenberg defeated Klepatz and Werger 6-4 in mixed doubles.
