Weeden Guns Thing Of The Past In Post War Reserve Army

Shilo Camp Manitoba trained 14 Reserve Force units in a two week post war summer camp. About 500 participants used new equipment and anti aircraft guns for manuver drills and an operational parachute exercise. Units included 18th Armoured Car Regiment and 67th Light AA Regiment with extensive cross service co operation and a housekeeping plan improving comfort and training efficiency.

About 250 Army Cadets from Brandon Dauphin and Winnipeg wrapped a rigorous summer camp in Clear Lake. The ten day program featured a health and education focused syllabus with early rising and strict grooming. Sergeant George St John noted the large food demand including milk meat bread potatoes and vegetables to feed the group.
