Tyndall Pioneer Jacob Dolynuik dies at 88

Jacob Dolynuik 88 of Tyndall died at home on Saturday June 22 after 33 years as a local pioneer. Funeral held Tuesday June 25 at the Greek Catholic church with Fathers Roux and Carmillo. Burial in the family plot at Tyndall Cemetery. He is survived by sons Andrew and John, both of Tyndall.

Charles Fuller Pine Falls Rites Held in Farnham

Mrs M W Turner’s father Charles Fuller died in Moncton at 85 after living in Farnham. Turner flew east to be with him. Harold A Fuller, CN R Atlantic Region engineer, joined Turner in Moncton and accompanied the body to Farnham Quebec for funeral services at St James Anglican Church on Saturday June 28. The town extends sympathy to Mr and Mrs Turner and family.

Body of Percy Foster Recovered From 70 Feet Of Water

The body of Percy Foster, a victim in the June 10 double drowning, was found Monday June 24 in 70 feet of water at Big Island Lake about 150 yards from shore. Funeral rites were held June 29 at the Tyndall S.O.L. with G. Johnson officiating. Pallbearers in Army uniforms included J Katzaly G Barclay P McKay K Riley J Cass and O Cass. Interment followed at Tyndall cemetery.

Last day for Dr Reid as LAC DU BONNET doctor

Dr. I W Sneath will take over on July 15 as Dr Reid leaves to pursue post graduate work in the United States. Reid served from June 1 1939 through wartime, overseeing a vast district from the Ontario boundary to Brokenhead, including Pine Falls Hospital. Sneath, from Regina, is married to a nurse and will be joined by his wife in practice. Community welcomes both Dr and Mrs Sneath.

Part Time Office Opened in Beausejour for Local Job Seekers

An office set up in Beausejour at the Municipal Hall will be open Friday and Saturday all week. Operated by the National Employment Service, it serves Beausejour Whitemouth Pine Falls Lac du Bonnet and nearby residents who would otherwise travel to Winnipeg. It accepts applications for employment and unemployment insurance claims and may refer applicants to jobs.
