Birthday Celebration Fun for Everyone

The second annual Pinawa Birthday Party featured Miss Pinawa 1971 Debbie Bjornson crowned by Rosemarie Kunzmann, with Miss Debb ie Harding and Linda Bujold as princesses. A weekend of parades, free ice cream, midway rides, games, beer gardens, square dancing, a sailing regatta, and a 16-team fastball tournament showcased community festivities across Pinawa and nearby towns.

19th Knights Masons Sports Day at Pine Falls

The 19th Annual Knights Masons Sports Day and Dinner was held on Saturday June 26 at Pine Falls. Thirty two Knights and Masons participated in golf nine holes of medal play along with trap shooting and fishing under ideal weather conditions. Leo Seguin was praised for running the tournament and the levy was 10.1 mills compared with last year’s 11.8 mills.

Debbie Bjornson Crowned Miss Pinawa 1971

Debbie Bjornson was crowned Miss Pinawa 1971 at the Coronation Ball on July 9 at Kelsey House, with Rosemarie Kunzmann of Lac du Bonnet’s Miss Minnewawa crowning her. Debby Harding was first Princess and Miss Congeniality, Linda Bujold second Princess.
