Manitoba will begin engineering data collection for power plants at Pine Falls and McArthur Falls on the Winnipeg River. H G Acres and Company of Niagara Falls will conduct the studies under the mandate of the Manitoba government and report to Minister J S McDiarmid.

Ailleen Small daughter of J C Small Lac du Bonnet married Heglie Oder at Knox United church on July 3 in a small ceremony of local interest. The bride wore a white Jersey dress with mauve accessories and a luncheon followed before the couple departed for a short vacation.

Jim Saunders outpointed Wally Crapleive of Ladywood after three hard rounds in Portage la Prairie before 1000 fans. One judge favored Crapleive while two had Saunders winning, Saunders holding a 20 pound advantage. Ed Zastre stopped Bob Smith by 1. KO in the main event after flooring him in rounds one and two.
