Four Rinks In Zone Playdowns For Curling Title
After two busy curling weekends in Seven Sisters Lac du Bonnet and Pine Falls are among the four rinks still contending for the zone championship. Last year’s winner J Usackis joins D Stupack from Lac du Bonnet E Doucette of Pine Falls and Klapprat of Seven Sisters. A double round robin will stage next at Lac du Bonnet on January 23 at 10 00 a m with four draws scheduled that day for the zone representative.

Reynolds Community Club formed in Hadashville area
A new community club named Reynolds Community Club was formed at Hadashville Manitoba. It aims to serve Sudlow Hadashville Medika Prawda McMunn and East Braintree residents with over 100 paid members and plans to build a community centre and bowling lanes on a ten acre Prawda site donated by Mr and Mrs Frank Prokopsky. Officers for 1965 include Gordon Elder East Braintree president Walter Kupiak Medika vice president Mrs Carole Hreno Hadashville secretary and Sandy Zalitach Prawda treasurer. Funding relies on donations fundraisers and pledged labour with a Centennial grant possible if applications meet the June 30 1965 deadline.

Hockey Coaches Clinic Held in Pinawa January 9
The first in a series of Minor Hockey Coaches Clinics was held in Pinawa on January 9, sponsored by the Pinawa Recreation Committee. Corporal Cliff Kool of the Beausejour RCMP led 20 coaches from Beausejour, Seven Sisters and Pine Falls through a full day of coaching philosophy, hockey organization, film review, and a two hour on ice session, ending at the Staff Hotel with Stanley Cup films after dinner. Despite 35 below zero weather, attendees praised the clinic.

Fourth Annual Ballet Trip Hosted by Pine Falls Group
The Pine Falls Ballet Association organized a festive visit to Winnipeg's Children's Theatre on December 30 with forty five girls and leaders by chartered bus. The Royal Winnipeg Ballet performed and featured Helen McKergow and Julie tte Perry, with Bill Matin-Vis count from Libau and Sellick in The Little Emperor and the Mechanical Court. New Integrated Hospital Opens For White and Indian Patients
A 48 bed Pine Falls hospital serving Pine Falls Powerview Fort Alexander and Brokenhead reserves opened January 9 replacing a smaller facility and an adjoining Indian Services Hospital. Funded by federal provincial and company sources it marks Canada’s first privately owned hospital entering such an arrangement with Indian services. The facility will employ about 50 people under Dr E R Siddall and staff including Dr Peter Geer and Dr G Bronstein.

The Lac du Bonnet Ladies Curling Club will stage its 17th North Eastern Bonspiel from January 15 to 17. Seventeen rinks are entered with three guaranteed games, four prizes in three events, a Friday evening start, a Saturday banquet by St. John's Anglican, and a Sunday curling finale with prizes awarded.

Members of the Pinawa Players and friends gathered at the Pinawa Staff House hotel on Saturday January 29 for the first social of the year. The Pinawa Playboys provided music with Don Thompson Dennis Fitzsimmons Cliff Cameron and Bill Dunford. Ben Banham offered humor mid evening and a buffet lunch was served. The group announced preparation of a three act play to be presented at the end of February.
