Whitemouth Couple Honoured on Silver Anniversary
Mr and Mrs Fred Klapprat were honored at Whitemouth Town Hall on Saturday December 19 to mark their silver wedding anniversary with over 200 relatives and friends attending a reception and dinner. A three tier cake and floral silver decorated hall framed the event as Pastor A Eppler gave grace and Henry Steiner offered a toast. Gifts included matching coffee end tables a floor lamp a wall clock and other items. The couple’s relatives, including Mr and Mrs John Klapprat who marked their 49th anniversary, reminisced and danced. Out of town guests travelled from Winnipeg Beausejour Kenora and other locales.

New Hospital Opens Saturday at Pine Falls
The 16 bed addition to Pine Falls hospital debuts Saturday with officials from Department of Health Indian Affairs and Manitoba Paper Company. It serves Pine Falls Fort Alexander and nearby areas, housing three operating theatres and a ten bed newborn infirmary with modern equipment. The old Indian hospital will be dismantled for parking and landscaped grounds.
