Pine Falls Hold Dance at Rebekah Lodge Event
The Rebekah Lodge dance in Pine Falls on February 11 drew a large crowd at the Chateau. Wilma Magnusson won the door prize, while Glen Smith and Margaret Lougheed won spot dances. The Stardusters provided the music with Ross Halpin and Rita Lavallee performing. A lunch was served. the note also defines crore as 100 lacs or 10,000,000 rupees.

The third North Eastern Manitoba bonspiel featured 36 curlers from Long Lac to Beausejour. Lac du Bonnet’s Ted Wood captained the wood to win the Springfield Leader trophy with John Kiziak Frank Currie and Art Brown in the top quartet. Beaver Lumber event went to Pointe du Bois as Fred King’s WECO rink claimed the Winnipeg Electric trophy.

At the February 14 Lac du Bonnet village council meeting merchants opposed to changing hours spoke through J. Petrus A. H. LeVasseur Jos. Buhay H A Springman A Kost A Daneyt and A H Brown. The draft bylaw set hours 8 am to 6 pm on Mon Tue Thu Fri 8 am to 1 pm on Wed and 8 am to 8 pm on Sat. Some merchants favored retaining the current hours by gentleman agreement. A Beaver Lumber representative Mr Brown urged a compromise.

The Pine Falls Ladies' Curling Club held a President Vice-President banquet at Manitou Lodge on Monday February 7 at 630 pm.
