Fire destroys Lac du Bonnet residence
The P. H. Klassen home in Lac du Bonnet burned on Sunday, Jan. 31, leaving only the shell. Fire started in the kitchen ceiling and spread quickly, four thousand gallons of water failing to save much. Klassen and others soaked the basement to salvage preserves and laundry. The house, owned by Mrs. Lil Carrion of Winnipeg, was insured along with the furniture. Mr. Klassen and his five children are being cared for by local villagers.
