Canadian boxing scene fears new stars fade in New York
Montreal's Johnny Greco lost to Tony Pellone in New York ending any near term claim to top ring honors south of the border. He impressed with roundhous e slugging and resilience but prospects for a Canadian main event in New York look dim. Amateur boxing draws crowds at home while a few pros perform in select centers, with Arthur King of Toronto among the notable newcomers in the featherweight ranks. Jackie Armstrong and Danny Webb remain prominent names in the scene as Canada searches for rising contenders.
