One Serious Accident in Industry in March

Abitibi Power and Paper Limited plans a 22 million dollar expansion at the Fort William Ontario mill to lift newsprint production from 65000 tons to over 150000 tons annually by 1958. New Beloit 276 inch machine will run up to 3000 fpm, with 3000 tons daily output, plus expanded wood handling and refining, new building, and power capacity. About 100 more workers expected.
