Health Plan Extends Out-Patient Therapy Coverage
Health services insurance now covers out-patient physio, occupational, and speech therapy. Health Minister Rene E. Toupin announced that since 1962 these services were funded in hospitals with therapy departments, mainly in Winnipeg and Brandon, with rural hospitals gradually expanding. The extension removes prior travel and doctor-change burdens by insuring out-patient care in designated hospitals and clinics across Manitoba.
