Lac du Bonnet Legion Plans Hockey Luncheon
The Lac du Bonnet Legion at its March meeting arranged a Sunday April 11 luncheon for Pee Wees and Tom Thumbs hockey teams. A film night raised 310 dollars for victims, to be shared by Mrs. Baldes and S. Peterson. New members G Wright and E Dzinkowski joined, with A McLeod welcomed. A fish sale and ham bingo are planned to raise funds, with several officers and delegates named.

Legal Leaders Form ou District Committee
A Boy Scouts district organizational meeting was held at the RCAF base on March 27 with leaders from surrounding areas attending. The district committee will include a president vice president Bruce Sinclair secretary Wm Albright treasurer F G Hacquoil and two members from each group committee. Meetings begin quarterly with the first in late June. The district will assist groups as needed and a caboree and jamboree are discussed. Transportation remains with group committees on group level and with the district for district events. Financing ideas include group assessments and district council decisions. A fund raising approach and regional staffing are debated as not enough Scouts exist to form a regional area. The current setup links a2 to the Provincial level with limited benefits such as Whiteshell camp usage.

Mr. W C Hardy of Lac du Bonnet was re elected president of the New Democratic Party Association at a Friday meeting in the Lac du Bonnet Memorial Hall. Other officers elected included W Zarecki as vice chairman Mrs G Hardy as secretary treasurer and an executive committee comprising S Hrysio E Nilsson J Bracken E Dobrucki P Sikora J Duchinski O Fors J Wolgrocki and E Larsoui. The gathering heard reports on party activity over the past year and calls for political education ahead of upcoming elections. Hawks Capture Bantam B Title In Pine Falls
Lac du Bonnet Golden Hawks defeated Paper Kings 6 to 4 to win the Bantam B crown in Pine Falls on March 31, the second game of a best of three series after winning game one 12 to 4 on March 27 led by Norm Cherrey eight goals. Pine Falls scorers included Gelinas Smith Vielleux LaFrance and Cherrey with multiple assists. Hawks’ assists credited to Hanton Melquist Ukrainec and Horbatiuk.
