Adam and Eve. Fisherfolk Crabs at Galveston Market
Al Geller of Fortune and Mis Wife reduced to crab catching. An elderly couple known as Adam and Eve sell crabs near the Central market, living in a 6x8 shanty on the western wharf. Bernard Budenti, born 1815 in Calabria, has a winded, global past from wine making to armies in Spain, Brazil, Chile, and Mexico, finally ending in Galveston where he and his wife fish and sell crabs, refusing charity and proclaiming I am no tramp, I am an old soldier.
