At daylight Saturday morning two men attempted to break into the Hamilton residence at 23 Booth Limestons. Tracks circled the house and one man began sawing the shutters when a frightened Miss Mary Hamilton woke and the intruder fled, his cap vanishing down the alley. The Cincinnati Law School graduates appeared before Chief Justice Mellvaine in Columbus for certificates and practice admission.
Reports from Tomo and Aritsna chronicle a savage triple murder by Apeches harming Cal and the Pillipa family. Details describe horrific mutilation including a daughter allegedly hung alive from a meat hook, while Phillip Mee’s eyes and ears are cited as torn and cut. Authorities vow swift action amid frenzied public outrage.
The city held a solemn Memorial Day observance with Col. White leading a procession to cemeteries, banners and flowers, and an address by Chaplain Delo. Beginning today May 30 the P OC S L Railway runs a special train from Byringfiel to Xenia for Springfield residents to visit Yellow Springs or friends along the line. The service connects with the fast express to Mitsubishi Philadelphia Baltimore Washington New York and Boston. Trains depart Spring field at AAO and arrive at Springfield fold with standard ty.
