Yesterday at 4 pm the Chitlend wel parlors hosted the wedding of Huch Chatha tee Captain Dismal of Farron's Soap Bubble company to Miss Mary L. Wiley of Tarkessburg West Virginia. Rev. W. D. Cheron officiated before the bride's parents and company members. The Wiley family, once in Zanesville, later in Parkersburg, is said to be very wealthy. an earlier Stillwell case involving Miss Wiley and Byron Stillwell connected to Zanesville was resolved with bonds.
James A Wales cartoon artist of Puck and The Judge died in a New York basement restaurant. He reportedly drank bromide solution with liquor after breakfast and was later found dead on a sofa. Authorities concluded death from organic disease aggravated by bromide overdose. a wife and two children survived him. He was born near Clyde Ohio in 1850 and had worked in London and Paris. The body rests at the fourth precinct police station.
New York reports an alleged Parisian journalist, Charles Bourton, linked to selling $50,000 worth of unauthorized Tatti concert tickets in Mexico. Mexican detectives tracked patches from Henry Abbey's office and believe Bourton was found within thirty miles of Mexico City. Authorities had Bourton under surveillance and would not allow escape.
Prrisavne Pennsylvania December 7 George Watt the convict shot by Deputy Warden McKean in Riverside penitentiary died this morning from injuries sustained last evening after he assaulted a guard with a knife.

A Moy Killed by an Express Train Near Milford. Mr and Mrs John Wilson and Lew Walden walked on the tracks between Milford and Caup Dennison. They were struck by an eastbound express as a westbound freight passed. Lew Walden died at once, Mr Wilson saved his wife but was severely injured. The funeral for Lew Walden was held the next day, with Superintendent Peters providing funeral expenses.
J A Kobelenz reports a night theft at his stable north west of the city. A fine horse about twelve hands high and weighing 1100 pounds was taken. A $200 reward is posted by the county for arrest and conviction, plus $50 by the association and $25 by a local organization for recovery.
Peter C Phillips was jailed after breaking into the Bushnell Armory, stealing scenery from a small stage inside the building. He sold the items to a dime museum proprietor for fifty cents. The police tracked the theft to Phillips and arrested him in Funk's Building on West Main Street around 9:20 PM. The value of the stolen scenery is about four dollars.
John F. Cooper shot himself at ten last night near Willard Avenue and East Street shops after a rejected marriage proposal to Lena Wagner. He left his boarding house in Gillett’s and confided death by his own action amid threats and despondency linked to a perpetual motion machine project and alleged drinking. Lena Wagner, a clerk at Albright Willis & Co, witnessed the tense farewell before Cooper fired, dying instantly with a through and through wound near the right temple. Local relatives, lodging and shopkeepers recall his odd habits, recent purchases, and a troubled family history as authorities were notified.
Eugene Confer, a Clifton resident and J. H. Mulholland employee, warded off two men who tried to rob him on the road to Cedarville before Thanksgiving. Confer, armed and undeterred, chased the fleeing duo until a passing team scared them off, leaving him unhurt though his bicycle lay in a ditch.
George Woodruff, a 22 year old resident of 246 Gallagher Street, lost his left hand when caught in a planer at the New Champion works. The joint below the wrist was amputated after the new surgical chair by Dr Russell was used. Deputy Potee and Elmore Grim assisted in the operation, performed under heavy anaesthetic. Woodruff was taken home afterward.
