Hennepin Pike Repairs Boost Local Road Access
The Hennepin pike between the old Red Mills and the river west of Hennepin has been graded and trimmed, with improving conditions though still dry-weather friendly. The old ferry remains in operation and visitors remark on Hennepin as an interesting stop. If the $100 million road bond passes, the two and a half mile pike will be paved from the river to the Ivy Way and become part of a route linking Dixon, Princeton, Granville, Metamora and Peoria.
