William George of De Pue files for divorce from Mary George in Bureau County Circuit Court. They married December 5, 1918 in Palmerton Pennsylvania. Two children exist. the wife deserted with the younger child on October 1, 1922. The older boy, four, remains in William’s custody, who seeks full custody.
William Butler aged fifty four died at St Margaret s hospital Spring Valley from infection due to injuries from an automobile accident on November 26 and from long standing tuberculosis lesions. Butler a bachelor with no near relatives, was struck by Selby Spute who drove slowly to deliver chickens near the Catholic Church. Butler, a cripple, could not escape the car and was carried to Dr Dysart s office then to the Spring Valley hospital where a fractured hip was found. A coroner s jury cleared Spute of blame for the death.
