Spring Valley PTA Appeals for Art Exhibit Support
The Spring Valley Parent-Teachers Association urges public help for an upcoming art exhibit in the old bank building running Thursday to Saturday the 17th to 19th. Proceeds fund school pictures for classrooms and aid public schools, with donations and purchases encouraged. A cafeteria supper at Grant School on Thursday the 17th at 6 30 pm offers a special children’s plate, and membership fees are payable at Spring Valley City Bank.

Pot Luck Supper at Congregational Church
Mrs. Bradbeer’s division of the Ladies Aid Society will host a pot luck supper in the church parlor on Tuesday evening December 15 at 6 o clock. A business meeting follows with a request for each member to bring a covered dish bread and butter sandwiches and table service. The annual financial report from divisional chairmen and proceeds of the year’s work will be presented.

The famed clown By Gosh of Barnum and Bailey fame will appear at the Valley Theatre on December 16 and 17 in a vaudeville show. The act features a cast of fifty local children and comedians, with minstrels of 20 girls and 30 boys. A Charleston contest and Shimmie contest will also be held.

Putnam County Man Dies at Hospital
Joseph Wilson, 50, longtime Granville resident and farm worker, died at 3 p.m. Monday at St. Margaret's hospital Spring Valley from complications of diseases. The body was taken to Hebron, Indiana for burial.
