Weather Crop Bulletin Des Moines For Week Ending June 13 1909
Des Moines reports below normal temperatures with excess rainfall across much of the state and limited sunshine. Early week showers were widespread with some very heavy rains causing flooding and hillside washouts. Continued rain could force corn acreage to switch to later crops and field work was largely impossible until Friday. Despite conditions, corn on uplands shows good stand and color, with rapid growth. Grass, small grain, potatoes, and garden truck also grew quickly and hold promise of abundant yields.
