Members of the Sioux City Deanery of the Episcopal Church gathered in Spencer for two days at St Stephen's. Bishop Morrison presided as dignitaries and strong men attended, with a banquet in Guild Hall, toasts by Rev. Hunt, Hon. Cornwall, Rev. Drake, Rev. Smith, and Rev. Rollit, concluding with the Bishop’s address on Christianity, mission, and church as a major force.

Charity matinee at Unique aids needy family
A Tuesday charity matinee at the Unique raised thirty three dollars from admissions and an auction of donated goods. Messrs Shirley and Twitchell donated two suits of boys' clothing. Gillett Grove Fire Destroys Four Town Buildings
A Friday evening fire in Gillett Grove destroyed four wooden buildings housing Ed Landers store, Gillett Grove Savings Bank, R E McQuinn dry goods and hardware, with nearly total losses to goods and substantial building damage. McQuinn’s books were lost. total losses exceed ten thousand dollars, ending town commerce until rebuilding.
