Centralia Polio Center Closes As Patients Move On
The emergency polio center at Centralia closes Saturday with patients transferred to other hospitals. Since opening July 19, the facility transformed a former residence into a modern center, staffed by doctors from St. Louis and university teams, nurses from across the region, and strong volunteer support to treat polio victims and preserve muscle action.
