Girl Impaled by Chisel in Kitchen Accident
In Joliet an 18 month old girl named Joan Arlene Weber was impaled by a four inch handle chisel that pierced her stomach liver and gall bladder. Surgeons removed the instrument in a over three hour operation and removed the gall bladder. She received a blood transfusion and showed signs of recovery barring complications.
