County raises health insurance cost for most workers
The Jackson County Board told about 350 employees they must pay 56 dollars monthly for health insurance, while 70 unionized staff in the circuit clerk and sheriff offices retain full county coverage. Last year premiums rose 85 percent, and for the new fiscal year starting Dec 1, premiums rise 16 percent as officials could not secure cheaper coverage.
