Randolph County seeks escapee Lamadrae Chapman in manhunt
Parolee Lamadrae J. Chapman, 26, fled custody Thursday morning in Randolph County. Sparta police confirmed aid from Illinois State Police in the search for the black male, 5'11" and 210 pounds, with tattoos on chest arms and back. He was released on parole in March and faces a March 27, 2003 parole discharge. He has prior felonies in St. Clair and Randolph counties, including aggravated battery and burglary. A maroon Ford van is suspected. one handcuff reportedly remained on.

Woods murder trial set for January in Tipton case
DaRon L. Woods 27 faces four counts of first degree murder and unlawful possession of weapons by a felon for the killing of 23 year old Kenji Tipton of Carbondale. Trial begins 9 a.m. January 21 after Woods’s attorney indicates readiness and pursuit of more witnesses. Maurice L. Harper 24 previously found guilty of first degree murder in a related bench trial.

Two hurt in Du Quoin two car wreck
In Du Quoin a two car crash on South Peach Street left Rachelle Wallace 31 and Jarrod Justice 16 with minor injuries. Wallace slowed to turn into a private drive and Justice failed to see her braking, causing moderate vehicle damage. Justice cited for failure to reduce speed.
