Grain futures slip on CBOT as July prices fall

Grain futures on the Chicago Board of Trade slid Tuesday with wheat down 23.25 cents to 7.7975 a bushel July corn down 20.75 cents to 7.3325, July oats down 1 cent to 3.60, and July soybeans down 1.50 cents to 13.7225 a bushel. The Associated Press.

Grid upgrade bill eyed with 2.5 percent rate cap

Illinois lawmakers plan amended House Bill 14 to require a 2.5 percent cap on annual electric bill increases for three years with a sunset in 2017. Gates warns big defense cuts shrink US influence

In his final speech as defense secretary Robert Gates warned that reduced budgets will yield a smaller military and diminished U.S. global role.
