One-stop licensing fight cuts red tape in Washington
Washington launches the Business License Center to create a one stop shop for 28 licenses across 12 agencies. The center will coordinate applications, reduce time and confusion, and expand from grocers to all businesses. The full system should be ready by fall 1979 with toll free help, mail packets, and direct agency contact. A pilot for grocers proved successful and the state may abolish or retain licenses as it folds programs under the center.
