Chester Chamber Names Officers and Awards Scholarship
Chester Chamber of Commerce elected Tom Welge as president and Eric Freeburg as vice president. Bertha Mae Blechle and Betty McCoy were named directors, with Richard Allison on the advisory board. A $500 annual scholarship for a local high school student was approved, with preference for relatives of members, beginning in 2005. Plans for a Chester Farmers Market were discussed pending city council finalization. The chamber also redesigned its site at www.chesterill.com and re-elected Ron Pehacek to the Industrial Development Corporation.
