Break in dam threatens 10 Johnston City homes
A growing gap in the Johnston City Lake dam threatened about 10 southern Johnston City homes as a 30 foot long breach widened from a two foot hole. Mayor Bill Stevens and City Engineer Larry Lipe said the dam could fail if not repaired. Army Corps of Engineers were called to survey. The town planned to drain the lake to reduce flood risk.
