Leaded Gasoline Lead Content Cut Nearing Deadline
New York July 1 EPA requires leaded gasoline to drop to five tenths of a gram per gallon. Industry debate rises over shortages and mis fueling as demand for unleaded fuels grows while prices are expected to rise about two cents. April prices averaged 1.08 for regular leaded, 1.16 unleaded, and 1.28 premium unleaded. Further reductions to 0.5 and 0.1 grams will raise production costs.
