Mother's Day reflection from Gary Metro on time and gratitude
The piece honors mothers and time as a candle in a sea of lights, recalling the author’s mother Lorraine who died May 7, 1986 after a private battle with cancer. It urges readers to tell their mothers they love them beyond greeting cards, and shares Metro's reflection from The Southern Illinoisan editor Gary Metro.
