Illinois direct hog prices show steady levels with light to moderate demand across weights 300 to 600 plus pounds, with boars under 300 at 25.00 to 33.00 and over 300 at 8.00 to 12.00.
Grain and soybean futures fell Friday on the Chicago Board of Trade. Wheat for May delivery slipped to 4.05 a bushel, May corn to 3.05, May oats to 1.65, and May soybeans to 10.13 a bushel amid broad declines.
Wall Street trimmed gains with profit taking leaving stocks narrowly lower but the Dow and Nasdaq reversing a two week decline. University of Michigan sentiment rose to 95.8 in March from 94.4 in February signaling potential higher consumer spending and a boost to the economy. Crude gains modestly in New York as gasoline futures rise, helping offset a two day drop amid fears of a world supply glut. May light sweet crude settled up 0.6 percent at 35.73 a barrel on the Nymex as gasoline stock trends and OPEC output concerns shaped the session.
