New Candidates Enter Chester Election Ballot
Chester voters face new names in city races on April 7 with five newcomers running for alderman seats in Wards 1 and 3. Ward 1 hosts a two man race featuring Michael W. Welge and E. Pete Mehrer, both claiming no personal issues and focusing on jobs and housing. Ward 3 sees Neal Decker, Howard Alms, and Dale Lochhead challenging incumbents, each pledging city-focused service and addressing youth employment and city finances. Unopposed rounds exist in Wards 2 and 4 with Frank Derickson and Neil Birchler otherwise returning.
