Huge DOT budget approved in Illinois session
Chicago Democrats stayed silent as the Illinois House approved a 2.003 billion dollar State Department of Transportation budget. The measure, the largest single appropriation in state government, was sent to Gov. Walker after a 144 to 15 vote. The House rejected cuts to the Regional Transportation Authority despite Senate amendments, while adopting most Senate changes. Other actions included urging a five year ban on state contracts to bribery admitted firms and proposals over the Middle Fork reservoir funds and raffles regulation.
