Adapted Water Ski Clinic kicks off in West Frankfort
The Seventh Annual Adapted Water Ski Clinic begins Saturday at West Frankfort Lake. Sponsored by St. Mary's Good Samaritan Inc., Southern Illinois Surgical Appliance, and St. Louis Wheelchair Athletic Association, the event runs 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and costs $10 per person. The clinic enables disabled people of all ages to ski and boat with specialized equipment, with participation open to most, given medical restrictions. Horn, organizer and Acute Rehab Unit pre admission coordinator at Good Samaritan Hospital, notes the program originated in St. Louis and aims to show how enjoyable water activity can be for participants, especially children.
