Grain futures mixed as soybeans fall on Chicago trade

Grain futures were mixed on the Chicago Board of Trade with soybeans slipping. Wheat for July rose to 3.684 a bushel, corn slipped to 2.23, oats edged up to 2.03, while soybeans dropped to 5.69 a bushel.

Walgreens earnings rise 14 percent aided by Medicare drug plan

Walgreens Co, the largest U.S. drugstore chain by revenue, posted a 14 percent jump in third quarter earnings as prescription sales surged 13.5 percent and same-store sales rose 9.3 percent. The Medicare drug program boosted demand while the Deerfield company expanded rapidly, planning 500 store openings in fiscal 2007 and agreeing to acquire 76-store Happy Harry's. Net income reached 469.2 million dollars on 12.18 billion in revenue, beating analyst estimates by two cents per share.
