New Marion plant to change coupon industry
Cunningham Electronics Corp plans a 10,000 square foot plant at the Robert L. Butler Industrial Park on 9.5 acres west of Circuit City in Marion. The Marion City Council approved the land sale for 46 985 99 dollars. The facility will employ six to ten workers initially and produce a patented coupon terminal to speed redemptions at checkout. The terminal will scan coupons at lanes, eliminating coupon shipping and reducing fraud costs estimated at 500 to 800 million dollars annually. A pilot program aims to start by October with several retailers already committing. The Marion site offers quick airport access and pro business officials plus attractive incentives in the industrial park.
