Milder Liver Loaf Achieved by Water Bath Baking
A liver loaf gains a milder flavor when baked in a pan placed inside another pan of water. The water bath moderates heat and moisture, producing a gentler loaf than baking directly in a dry pan.
Chief My candidate for dogfood cannery tale of Chief the escaping horse
A Christopher show incident features Chief the horse breaking free from a trailer at 11:40 p.m. after a race, wedging through a door, and requiring an Energy vet and an acetylene torch to free him. Local deputies and police assisted while owner Mrs. Cook and others waited. The tale pivots to a family memory about Grandfather lifting a dining room table during a kitchen fire. The piece ends with a note contradicting Ussher's 1654 date for creation.
