Southern Illinoisans react to possible power bill hike
Illinois Power seeks ICC approval to raise natural gas delivery charges by 5.85 per month, lifting the average bill from 64.57 to 70.42 dollars. The change affects delivery charges only, not gas costs, with gas rates set by suppliers. If approved, the increase would take effect next spring. Don Welge of Gilster-MMary Lee Corp comments it is unwelcome but not shocking.
