Carbondale Board renews after school language program move
The Carbondale Elementary School Board renewed an agreement with Southern Illinois University Carbondale for 11 graduate students to teach after school Spanish and French, seven instructors in Spanish and four in French for next year. The district will upgrade its website to include a language translator and other functions within about two weeks. David Daum will become district superintendent July 1, succeeding Elizabeth Lewin. Some attendees complained the meeting sound system was poor, hindering comments from board members.
