Illinois State Fair governance bill would form five member board
A bill nearing passage would create a five member governing board for the Illinois State Fair with the director of the Department of Agriculture as chairman ex officio and four governor appointed members. The board could hire or fire the fair manager, shifting power from the governor. The measure faces Senate approval after House filing on April 23.
